2009 was an interesting and very challenging year for Communications Systems, Inc. (CSI). Coming off the best year in CSI’s 40-year history in 2008, we were cautiously optimistic about 2009. It was a hard act to follow. CSI had a good year in 2009 and, in fact, was recognized twice during the year by two nationally-known organizations.

CSI's balance sheet remains very strong with a current ratio of 6 to 1 and cash equivalents and investments have increased by $4.6 million dollars to $34,600,000 from December 31, 2008. Net investment income has increased by 54% in 2009 compared to the first six months of 2008, due to a shift in investment strategy that started in 2008.
